5th Annual SPRA Fishing Derby for Kids

Come on down to Storrs Pond and catch the “big” one at our 5th annual Fishing Derby for Kids. The pond is stocked with brook trout and they mingle with the native small and large mouth bass and yellow perch. Your sure to catch something. Prizes and fun for all. The Derby takes place on Saturday, July 3 from 10am to 12pm.

Storrs Pond will host SPLASH BASH ’10 this Saturday, June 26. The event starts at 12:00 and runs to 5:00 pm. Various activities will take place throughout the Storrs Pond Area. The schedule of events is as follows:
| 12:00 – 5:00 | Tennis Clinic | Stop by the Tennis Courts and hit with our pro Billy Pontious |
| 12:30 – 1:30 | Beach Soccer | World Cup Soccer on the Beach. All ages and skills welcome |
| 1:30 – 2:00 | Basketball Games | Shoot the hoops with SPRA’s best |
| 1:30 – 2:30 | Canoe Rides | Paddle the Pond with your favorite SPRA employee. |
| 2:00 – 3:00 | VINS Raptor Show | V.I.N.S. has three live RAPTORS for you to see and learn about. Show takes place at the Main Area. |
| 2:00 – 2:30 | Swimming Events | wim like a fish in all of our Swimming Events. |
| 2:30 – 3:30 | Sand Volleyball Tournament | Compete against SPRA Staff to a challenging game of volleyball. |
| 3:30 – 4:00 | Field Events | Challenge yourself in some of our crazy fun Field Events. |
| 4:00 – 4:30 | Water Polo Game | Take on SPRA Employees in a friendly game of Water Polo. The match will be in the pool area. |
| 4:30 – 5:00 | Big Splash Contest | Splash the stars with our Big Splash Contest. The Contest will take place in the Pool Area. |

Master Swim Program
June 4th, 2010
Storrs Pond will be hosting a Masters Swim Program that will meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 5:30 to 7:00.
The program starts June 19 and runs to August 25.
Fees are $100 for Storrs Pond Members, and $320 for Non-members.
